Are you new in Madrid and want to get a glimpse of the Spanish culture and gastronomy? Or maybe you’ve been here for a while already and want to broader your horizons. Does not matter your background or how long you’ve been here, the Gastrofestival (as in Gastronomic Festival) just landed in Madrid to make your life a bit sweeter (or saltier, or spicier… you name it).
You are probably wondering what we are talking about, isn’t it? Well, Gastrofestival is a yearly date you cannot miss if you live in Madrid. From January the 21st to February the 5th Spain’s capital will become a culinary and artistic hot spot. This festival, spread all around town and quite similar to the well known Tapapies, will bring you the opportunity to learn a bit more about Spanish gastronomy and its relationship with arts such as literature, theater, movies, design and so on and so forth.
Gastrofestival is a great chance to discover the city from bar to bar. Over 400 businesses will be taking part of the festival so there is no excuse to avoid tapas, wine, beer, cooking classes, and arts exhibition. If you are new to town, you will find out what Spanish “tapas culture” really is about (if after this experience you still have doubts, don’t panic! We will be posting about tapas really soon).
Here you can find all the places –divided by neighborhoods– where you can try traditional and experimental tapas for quite a good deal (3€ for a beer and a tapa). Don’t forget to check out all the bars around Sol, Chueca, and Tribunal to find the ones on a walking distance for Inhispania. Which is your favorite Gastrofestival plan?
